Slightly Scary Fun - NY Aquarium & the Bronx Zoo

With Halloween fast approaching...just like last year, we went to the Bronx Zoo's Boo at the Zoo and the New York Aquarium's Ascarium. Again, LC had a blast at both places.

She didn't wear her new costumes yet (Tinker Bell and Cowgirl), but she put on butterfly wings + bopper headband that she wore Halloween 2010....as you can see from these recent photos at the New York Aquarium. The pirate-themed festivities captured the children's imaginations. LC loved dancing to the live pirate music performed by The Brigands (and the Sea Gypsies did a great job teaching some moves), doing arts & crafts (making a pirate ship & drawing fish in the ocean) and playing games (cannonball toss to hit a ship and a pirate ring toss, LC stood a few inches away from the targets to get a point). I like that the Haunted Seafari made her smile, not scream or cry.

The Bronx Zoo's Creepy Hollow Hayride and Haunting at Habitat Mansion were slightly spooky, just the right level for LC, so she was thrilled. She said it was an amazing weekend...and she looks forward to putting on her real costumes for more Halloween fun this year.
