Imagination...and beginning of August creations

We kicked off August 2011 with an off-broadway, glow-in-the-dark 50 min puppet show called ImaginOcean. LC loved it.

We picked up a pair of eyes at the theater...that she can put on her fingers and play pretend with...she calls them her "Oobi" eyes, like the TV show.

I don't recall if I posted this already mid-June...but I had jotted it down, because it was so cute...I love her imagination!

LC: "I want to be a bubble, I want to be a cat, I want to be a camel, I want to be a mommy, I want to be a horsey and a dog and a plate and milk...I want to be a picture, I want to be a banana. Last one is...I want to be a cherry."

Back to the beginning of are some of her new drawings.

She calls this chalk drawing "mommy and baby":

LC surprised me when she wrote an uppercase L...she has been wanting to write the first letter of her name for a while...and I told her our reading/writing/math lessons won't begin until she is at least 3 1/2 or 4 years old...I'd like to teach her, because she shows a real interest in letters and numbers, but there's no reason to rush...let her enjoy her preschool years. She managed to do this on her own, though, and ran up to me and said "I made an L!!! L about LC."

The above pic is a closeup of the letter L from the drawing shown below. This is her original drawing, that she wanted to sign with her name on top, so she was thrilled she managed to write the first letter of her name:

I asked LC what this picture is...and she said "TREES!":

In terms of the below drawing, LC said "crayon red, like mommy shirt red...I put red on the paper and making mommy...I love making mommy so much...I so so happy!!!!!"

And a couple of other crayon drawings she made the last week that I liked:

We don't have any classes or workshops scheduled for the summer, so all these drawings were created at home, of course.
